Simon Case, the chief civil servant, leaves the men-only Garrick Club following criticism.

Consequently, this arises as a result of criticism directed towards his membership in the organization due to the stringent entry conditions it imposes.
When asked about his affiliation with the organization on Tuesday, Mr Case responded: “I have to say, my position on this one is clear, if you believe profoundly in reform of an institution, by and large it is easier to do if you join it and make the change from within rather than chuck rocks from the outside”In addition to that, mathematics is also a component of this.

“Each and every one of us who departs that is in favor of mending this antiquated attitude, each and every one of us who quits implies that these institutions do not change. “I think when you want reform you have to participate.”
The United Kingdom’s King, Oliver Dowden, the Deputy Prime Minister, and Sir Richard Moore, the chief of MI6, were among the individuals who were featured on the list of club members that was just revealed by The Guardian newspaper.

Jill Rutter, a former member of the civil service who is currently working for a think tank in the United Kingdom that focuses on Changing Europe, expressed her disapproval of Mr. Case’s prior defense of his membership.

She made the following statement: “Simon Case portrays himself as a Garrick fifth columnist who is leading an army of militant public servants who have just joined to change the rules to admit women.”

“[I] am wondering how impressed his female colleagues are by this noble sacrifice.”

Liam Byrne, a Labour member of parliament, stated on social media: “I’m afraid any good the cabinet secretary may have sought ‘reforming the Garrick from the inside’ is well outweighed by the bad of our Civil Service chief indulging in membership of an elite all male club.”
